The Werbellinsee is located in the north of the Brandenburg district of Barnim, in the Schorfheide-Chorin Biosphere Reserve. Together with the Werbellin Canal, it forms the Werbellin Waters federal waterway. Up to the Oder-Havel Canal, it is a Class I waterway and falls under the jurisdiction of the Oder-Havel Waterways and Shipping Authority.

Very clean water and you can stand in the water for a long time before it gets deeper. So it's great for non-swimmers.
