Beautiful, secluded location in the heart of the Tollense Valley, surrounded by farmland and meadows. I'm already looking forward to its completion and opening.

Here you can cross the Tollense and continue on the other side…

Broock Castle, once the social center of the region and the largest private stud farm in Western Pomerania, will be expanded into a supra-regional conference and cultural center in the coming years. Since May 2023, our guests will be served in the new village shop with café-bistro and beer garden.

It was a double moated castle, as the two brothers Hartwig and Heinrich Maltzahn had a terrible falling out. The upper wall was called "the right castle", the lower wall "the outer castle". Both had their own gates and bridges to the land route! The upper part was partially destroyed when the Tollense was straightened. Unfortunately, the remains of the foundations can no longer be viewed today because there is no access to them and everything is overgrown!

According to the internet, all the equipment in this windmill from 1862 is still there, but it is currently (2024) not in use and is in danger of falling into disrepair. What a pity.

The Alt Telliner Mill (Gallerieholländer) is the only mill, apart from the Neubukow Mill, that still has the remains of what was once the most efficient blade system in historical mill construction - Bilausche Ventikanten. These originally came from the Niendorf Mill on the Elbe. The blades were brought here in 1954 and installed at great expense. But the effort was not worth it. Due to the chronic shortage of materials, no one could maintain the blades. From 1960 onwards, the mill only worked with the connected electric motor for the production of mixed feed for the local LPG. Over time, the wind gradually tore off parts of the blades and the cladding. After production ended in 1990, the mill, patched up with sheet metal, presented a pitiful picture. But it was possible to repair the outside - it got its shingle cladding back. Fortunately, attempts to move the mill or set up a restaurant were dashed... Today it is the only windmill with completely preserved milling technology in the region around Demmin. An enthusiast - who will take care of the mill - is wanted.
