ティーハウスは、ヘルムホルツ・フォン・プレッセン伯爵（約1740年から所有者）の時代に、オランジェリー、馬小屋、教会の改築とともに1750年頃に建てられました。それは、領地のバロック様式の拡張期に建設されました。

The memorial stone in Ivenack commemorates the events surrounding May 1, 1945. It commemorates Albrecht Freiherr von Maltzahn, Count von Plessen, his wife Magdalena, née Countess von Waldersee, and their nanny Emma Fuchs, who committed suicide on May 2, 1945 (not on May 1). This happened in the Rehgarten forest after severe mistreatment by Soviet soldiers, shortly after the invasion of the Red Army. It also commemorates a total of 29 people, mostly women and children, who took their lives around May 1, 1945, many of them in Lake Ivenack, out of fear of attacks by the occupying forces.

The teahouse is located southeast of the castle, about twenty meters from the lake shore. The building, which stands in the center of the park, is a highlight of the stately complex. In the 17th and 18th centuries, the desire for intimacy increasingly encouraged the construction of so-called pleasure houses, which are also known in France as "maisons de plaisance". These not only served as an intimate retreat for the rulers, but were also places of elite entertainment, offering space for games, music and dancing.
