Excellently preserved city wall with so-called Wiekhäuser (half-timbered houses embedded in the city wall)

Mudder Schulten Fountain Opposite the Fritz Reuter Memorial, also not far from the train station, stands the Fritz Reuter Fountain, now called the Mudder Schulten Fountain. It depicts "Dörchläuchting" (Duke Adolf Friedrich IV of Mecklenburg-Strelitz) and the baker's wife "Mudder Schulten." The scene depicted at the fountain is said to have taken place in 1771. The fountain at the Neubrandenburg Regional Museum is the Mudder Schulten Fountain. It was relocated to its current location opposite the Fritz Reuter Memorial after the city's destruction in World War II and during reconstruction. The fountain was reopened in 2019 after extensive renovation work.
