A remarkably beautiful building in Bad Freienwalde, with a unique charm.

Those who manage to climb the hill next to the church towards the open-air stage will find gravestones at the park entrance, remnants of the church's cemetery. Further information: http://www.konzerthalle-bad-freienwalde.de/ A wooden chapel previously stood on the site of today's St. George's Church. The chapel was demolished in 1692 due to its dilapidated condition. St. George's Church, a timber-framed building, was constructed on the site in 1696. After extensive renovations, St. George's Church was inaugurated as a concert hall in 1986 and now serves as a venue for concerts and exhibitions.

Very beautiful conversion of a historic half-timbered church into a concert hall.

It was built in 1560 by the noble family of Uchtenhagen. In terms of architectural history, it is a so-called “Festes Haus”, a transitional form that appeared in the 16th century between a medieval noble castle and the castle-like manor house that later became common.

A beautiful old church in half-timbered style

If it weren't for the sign, you could almost miss the oldest surviving castle in the Oderbruch. Christina Bohin and Andreas Unterberger bought the former aristocratic residence 10 years ago and converted it piece by piece into an “open house” for culture and guests. This means that the castle does not appear intimidating or distant in any way, but rather warm and inviting. You can spend the night here in high rooms with selected, harmonious furniture and contemporary art, some of which comes from Christina Bohin herself.
