After 1992, the building was extensively renovated with federal and state support and converted into a modern seminar center. Thousands of children, young people, and adults from many European countries meet here every year for training and educational opportunities.

The castle is privately owned. Visits to the castle itself are only possible by prior arrangement.

The lake actually only came into being as a separate body of water with the construction of the "Alter Dam" in 1869. Conveniently, it was then called Castle Lake. Another part further south, artificially separated by a dam, is the castle pond 😊. Unfortunately, the castle that gave it its name no longer exists.
