In 1911, due to impending dilapidation and a lack of space with only 226 seats, the new St. James' Church became the parish's main church. However, services are still held in the well-renovated church today.

It belongs to the Evangelical Lutheran parish of Lehmke-Wieren in the Uelzen church district of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hanover.
