Little clever shit about the superlatives from what I've read: Burghausen Castle is the longest castle in Germany and even the world. After Ehrenbreitstein, Rheinfels is the largest castle/fortress on the Middle Rhine

Oberwesel with its city wall is definitely worth seeing

A really great and well-kept area with rest areas, panoramic loungers, swings, hammocks - a great local recreation area. Horn Castle is located about 600 m west of Horn in a marshy headwater area of the Klingelbach. The impressive 4-5 m high, round castle mound has a diameter of 40 m. A 9-12 m wide, in places 1.5 m deep moat surrounds the castle mound. A well is said to have been uncovered in the partly silted up, partly still swampy ditch. The round hill plateau with a diameter of approx. 20 m shows an approx. 2 m deep trough or a wall-like elevation that encloses the plateau. horn-hunsrueck.de/horner-burg

Stahlberg Castle is the ruin of a spur castle in a side valley on a mountain spur above the Steeg district of the town of Bacharach. The castle was probably built on behalf of the Archbishops of Cologne, possibly also as a counter-castle to Stahleck Castle. A very beautiful architecture. Very nice place.

Rheinfels Castle is the largest surviving castle ruin on the Rhine. Although time has left its mark on the walls, you can still imagine what the magnificent fortress must have looked like. Part of the castle is now a museum where you can learn about the interesting history of the place. Large castle complex with good picnic facilities (several benches and tables). Located beautifully in the countryside with hardly any “noise of civilization”.

Great restored building with a nice (not cheap) restaurant. There is also a tower museum.
