The Seehof Palace park is a beautiful place for a walk or a stroll in any season. In addition to the well-maintained paths, there are numerous sights to see.

Seehof Castle is always worth a visit

The magnificent facades of the New Residence show how the baroque prince-bishops resided. A highlight of the baroque interior is the Kaisersaal. The Tyrolean-born painter Melchior Steidl frescoed the walls and ceiling of the hall from 1707 to 1709 with a complex pictorial program that shows the connection between the prince-bishopric and the rulers of the Old Kingdom. In addition to the showrooms of the palace administration, the New Residence also houses the State Gallery of the Bavarian State Painting Collections with masterpieces of old German and Baroque painting. The Old Court houses the Historical Museum and the Catherine Chapel. The Katharinenkapelle offers space for civil weddings and since 2004 the 1000-year history of the city, which has become a cult piece, has been performed there under the title "Light and Shadow" on weekends from May to October.

The keep is accessible again - one euro (1€) entrance fee - definitely worth it.

The castle is centrally located in a rectangular garden of 21 hectares, some of the paths are designed as avenues or arcades that are well worth seeing. The original rococo garden design is no longer recognizable, most of the areas are covered with lawn, some with loose trees. Pond farming for carp breeding is practiced in the immediate vicinity. At the edge of the garden is the striking orangery building with the central Memmelsdorfer Tor. The later added greenhouses on both sides are among the most important orangery buildings in Franconia. The spacious area served as a wintering house for the orange trees and other exotic plants. The Ferdinand Tietz Museum (the former court sculptor who also created the sculptures in the rose garden of the Bamberg Residence) has been in the western orangery since 1997.
