When hikers visit the popular viewing and resting place at the Küpser Linde, many do not know that they are at a legendary site. In the book "Sagen und Legenden des Lichtenfelser Land" by E. u. K. Radunz, a story tells that a fratricide led to the creation of the linden tree. Today, two mighty, sprawling trees stand at the Küpser legendary site in the middle of a picturesque landscape. There is also a summit cross and a fantastic view towards the southwest and thus of both the Main valley and Bamberg.

Covering approximately ten hectares, the "Weißer Lahma" contains a very distinctive biotope complex of dry and semi-dry grasslands with species-rich fringes, framed by a very sparse pine forest. Just a few decades ago, the nearby dry grasslands and juniper heaths near Stübig and Roßdach were interconnected with the Weißer Lahma. This connection has been interrupted by reforestation. Arable land use has created irregular terrain levels. Erosion has created new hollows and gullies, which contribute to the structural diversity. Habitats have been preserved for many animal species, including the red-backed shrike, the sand lizard, the silver blue butterfly, the spring snail, and the red-winged grasshopper. Much has also been achieved in protecting the diverse flora. In addition to limestone aster, pasqueflower, and gentian, the rich populations of silver thistle and orchids, in particular, once again have sufficient space.

From the Hohe Metze (523 meters high) you not only have a beautiful view of Bamberg and the surrounding area, it is also suitable for a longer rest with its tables and benches between the rocks.

On the Marienaltar to the right of the choir there is a Pietà, which comes from the Liebfrauenkapelle in Widdern and came to Bamberg in 1617. The statue was already the destination of pilgrimages in Widdern and was venerated from 1625 in the predecessor of today's Martinskirche, the old St. Martin's Church.
