Next to the tower is a small, abandoned, and rotten wooden shelter. It protected me from the rain after 12 km and provided the only place to sit so far.

Here you can enjoy delicious food with the best view.

Always a highlight is the Dragonerspitze and the trails

The Friesener Warte is always worth a hike, if only because of the breathtaking view that the high plateau offers.

The Dragoon Peak is about 530 meters above sea level. From here you have a wonderful view of the Deichselbach valley around Frankenberg and various rocks. Mountain biking is a must in the district of Bamberg.

The Malmkuppe des Amstlings was not previously wooded. Due to decades of non-cultivation, the formerly grazed meadows are becoming more and more bushy and a mixed forest has developed. For about 15 years, the forest has been pushed back again by landscape conservation measures and so orchid-rich calcareous grasslands have developed, which are not only typical of Franconian Switzerland, but also house a species-rich fauna and flora. The clearing in the waiting room is overgrown with a few juniper bushes. Unfortunately, there is no long-distance view because the trees around the clearing are too high. There is a clear view at the airfield
