The first evidence of settlement dates back to the Stone Age, as demonstrated by finds along the Iller River near Ferthofen. A very beautiful old town with numerous places to linger. Unfortunately, however, there is a large number of shops dying out, as in many city centers.

This great market square with numerous restaurants and sights is located in the middle of Memmingen's old town.

Another thing that is a matter of taste. The fishing day with the stream fishing on Saturday at 8 a.m. and the Friday night, which as a local you should have spent all night in the various pubs. I did that twice. The Wallenstein Games are celebrated every four years with a huge camp life in the city's green spaces. Wallenstein stayed in MM in 1630, but at the end of his military career. The medieval festival is one of the largest in Europe and well worth seeing.
