The Almaty Central Mosque is a magnificent example of Islamic architecture in Kazakhstan's largest city. As one of the country's largest mosques, it can accommodate up to 7,000 worshippers and is distinguished by its traditional, blue-tiled domes and minarets. Completed in 1999, the mosque is a center of religious life in Almaty. It stands on the foundations of an older mosque that had become too small to meet the needs of the growing Muslim community. The current Central Mosque was designed to serve both spiritual practice and community building.

The Palace of the Republic is one of the most important concert halls in Kazakhstan and a popular attraction in Almaty. The building was constructed in 1970 and named in honor of Vladimir Lenin. It received its current name, "Palace of the Republic," in 1991 after the collapse of the USSR. The Palace of the Republic underwent reconstruction in 2010-2011, which unfortunately resulted in the complete loss of the building's original architectural appearance.
