Huis Singraven, the view of the country house is impressive

Bourtange is an inhabited former fortress in the Netherlands. It is located in the Dutch province of Groningen, two kilometers from the German-Dutch border near Dörpen. Bourtange belongs to Westerwolde, whose part of the municipality Vlagtwedde therefore has a cannon in its coat of arms. Wikipedia

Many pretty places along the water of the Geul invite you to linger, shop and try the local Limburg specialties.

Simply beautiful to look at. The history of the building goes back around 700 years, as the agricultural estate of the Bishop of Utrecht. It has belonged to the Edwina Foundation since 1956 and can be explored on group tours during the summer months.

Singraven Estate The Singraven Estate is beautifully situated on the Dinkel near the village of Denekamp. The estate has many special monumental buildings, including the stately Singraven House, the Coach House behind it and the centuries-old three-wheeled watermill. Singraven offers a diverse landscape with forests, avenues, fields, meadows, marshes, and the ever-present Dinkel. The estate therefore has a surprising amount to offer: fascinating cultural history, relaxing and interesting nature, active recreational opportunities such as cycling or walking tours and much more. The Singraven Estate is easy to reach by following the signs "Singraven" from Denekamp. Follow. There are parking spaces at the watermill.

The castle garden is not always open. The castle itself, which is worth seeing, is privately inhabited and therefore not accessible. Unfortunately, the residents also park their cars right in front of the door, which significantly spoils the view. There is a brasserie behind the archway - when I was there I was greeted in the gate by smoke from the staff smoking there, not exactly inviting.

A beautiful street where you can eat and drink deliciously. Something for everyone.
