What a great place. I visited the castle 🏰 for the first time as a Mammoth March participant 👉 steep climb, really great castle 🏰 and brilliant view of the city.

A beautiful facility that I have mixed feelings about. On the one hand, I really like the buildings and the surrounding park. A wonderful line of sight to the castle in Ludwigsburg also served as a baseline for the survey of Württemberg in 1880. Keyword triangulation. On the other hand, this complex is as big as Stuttgart's old town and the megalomaniac builder Carl Eugen, as the ruler of the country at the time, made "his" people bleed badly just to satisfy his need for recognition.
