The Löwentor was built in 1858 by the Württemberg court architect Johann Michael Knapp.

The Katzenbacher Hof originated from a cattle farm that was run on behalf of the "Hospital for the Poor and Needy in Esslingen". At the beginning of the 19th century, Esslingen had the agricultural land reforested, except for five and a half acres. In 1896, the old buildings were demolished. A forester's house with a guest room - today's tourist restaurant - was built and is now a listed building.

But now it's official: The lake will remain empty this year as well. The work on the dam and the outlet is more difficult than expected and is taking longer!

The Bärenschlössle and the surrounding area are worth a visit at any time of year. It is more pleasant there during the week, as there are a lot of visitors at the weekend. The daily lunch menu is available at the Bärenschlössle from 12.30 p.m. Good value for money. Very tasty food on offer. Large selection of cakes.

Since 1968, the Katzenbacherhof in the Spitalwald near Stuttgart-Vaihingen/Büsnau has been a destination for young and old. Large playground for children right next to the building.

What a great place. I visited the castle 🏰 for the first time as a Mammoth March participant 👉 steep climb, really great castle 🏰 and brilliant view of the city.
