The watermill, first mentioned in 1320, was rebuilt in 1866 and decommissioned exactly 100 years later. In 1982, it was converted into a residential building. From 1904, a power plant operated on the site, supplying electricity to Hagen and Dobersdorf, as well as the church, rectory, and school, until the turbine was decommissioned and the mill demolished in 1930.

The Preetz Local History Museum is located in the small town of Preetz in the Plön district of Schleswig-Holstein. It opened in 1993 on the ground floor of a 19th-century, upper-class house. Johanna Brandt was instrumental in its opening and establishment. The building is owned by the town of Preetz. The museum is run by the "Heimatverein Preetz und Umgebung e.V." (Preetz and Surrounding Area Local History Association). The five exhibition rooms showcase Preetz's history from the early days of settlement to the present day.

Lake Passad is one of the largest lakes in the Eastern Uplands of Schleswig-Holstein. It covers 2.7 km² and is up to 10.7 m deep. The lake is named after the neighboring town of Passade. Lake Passad is tributary to the neighboring, roughly equally sized Dobersdorf Lake and the eight times larger and comparatively deep Selenter Lake. This lake system drains via the Hagener Au into the Baltic Sea near Laboe on the Kiel Outer Fjord.
