Its location on the outskirts of Plön allows for easy access, while a free parking lot at the edge of Ascheberg provides ample space, even for trailers. The tranquil surroundings and natural setting make the launch site perfect for water sports. Especially in the early morning hours, when the lake is still shrouded in mist, the atmosphere is captivating.

The "Great Plön Lake Tour" is a boat trip on the Great Plön Lake that passes by almost all the towns and villages on the lake, offering a complete round trip of approximately two hours. The tour usually starts in Fegetasche in Plön and passes by Prinzeninsel (Prince's Island), as well as the towns of Ascheberg and Dersau. It is one of the most popular excursions in the Holstein Switzerland region and is operated with the MS "Holsteinische Schweiz".
