A beautiful lake surrounded by Preetz... from the shore you have a lovely view across the lake with the town church in the background.

From the World War memorial there is a beautiful view down to the Schwentine river, which is somewhat wider here... you can often see small rowing boats on it.

A fisherman sits relaxed on a large fieldstone, his legs casually crossed, his trousers rolled up. In his right hand he holds his fishing rod, in his left the freshly caught fish. The figure stands in the Plön market square, not far from Lake Plön, which has always attracted many anglers.

In the heart of the old town, right on the market square, St. Nicholas Church dominates Plön's cityscape. The massive brick building with its 60-meter-high tower replaced a Baroque church that had burned down after being struck by lightning between 1866 and 1868. Due to a lack of funds, the ruins remained standing for over two years. The church facade clearly shows the 17th-century masonry that was reused in the new construction. Following the prevailing taste of the time, the architecture was based on medieval Romanesque and Gothic stylistic elements, incorporating remnants of the foundation walls that survived the fire. St. Nicholas Church hosts numerous concerts, ranging from sacred music to guest performances by artists such as Vicky Leandros. Musical highlights include the concerts held as part of the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival.

The Kirchsee is a lake in Holstein Switzerland. It is located in the Preetz municipal area in the Plön district. The original settlement area of Preetz and the town center are located on its western shore. Preetz Town Church, after which the lake is named, is also located there.

St. Nicholas Church in Plön, located in Holstein Switzerland in Schleswig-Holstein, is the town's main Evangelical Lutheran church. Originally built in 1691 in the Baroque style, the church building on the market square burned down almost completely in 1864 after being struck by lightning. From 1866 to 1868, St. Nicholas Church was rebuilt in the Neo-Romanesque style.
