The station is designed as a tower station, serving the two intersecting railway lines on two levels. The Halle–Cottbus railway line runs west-east through the lower section of the station, while the Berlin–Dresden railway line crosses it north-south in the upper section of the station on a 5.27 m high[1] crossing structure near the platforms.
