May 2025 - The Pub has now reopened under new management.

In 1805 the Grand Unicon canal from London to Braunston opened, passing through Fenny Stratford. To overcome a local problem during construction a temporary lock was installed here at Fenny Stratford and still remains to this day. There is a pub here namely the Red Lion public house and the lock keeper's house still stands and adds a tad of historic ambience to the place.

Using the closed Wolverton to Newport Pagnell train line as its base, the ‘Lost Track of Time Railway Walk’ takes you across the north of Milton Keynes through Great Linford and New Bradwell. This is very scenic with good views of the canal.

Great Linford Manor Park is a unique site in Milton Keynes with a history stretching back to at least the Saxon times. Many features of the park, for example the Water Gardens and nearby Wilderness Garden date from the 17th and 18th centuries when the park was laid out to provide the setting to the impressive Manor House, which is now privately owned.

Caldecotte lake is another hugely popular lake in Milton Keynes. With grass bank verges to take in the sunshine and acres of open space to take in the fresh air. Here you can escape the hustle and bustle of the day to day life of the city.

This is a lovely view of one of the spurs of Caldecotte lake and of the river Ouzel for that matter.

Willen Lake South is the most popular lake in Milton Keynes, and rightly so, with its beautiful walking and cycling routes, lush scenery, and wide variety of activities to partake in, it's a great day out for all to enjoy.
