至福のひととき！交通渋滞と騒音の広大な景色を眺めながら、ジェル、炭水化物ミックス、バーで素晴らしいランチを楽しみました！冗談はさておき、ロンドンからブリストルへの帰路のハイライトでした。なぜかはわかりません。

It is said that Wilder's Folly was built as wild romantic gesture by the Reverend Henry Wilder. He lived at Sulham House, while Jane Thoyts, who he was trying to woo, lived nearby at Sulhamstead House. The folly was positioned at the exact spot where you could see both houses. Take a look to the north as you can still see Sulham House today.

For walks around the lake, park in the Fox & Hounds pub carpark.

The only way I would cross the M4 from Reading to Theale! The nearby roundabout on the A4, with two lanes and fast traffic on both sides, is way too scary to cycle over, the other options requiring long detours.

Imposing gates to the Englefield Estate gardens (see also https://www.komoot.com/highlight/2791246). I doubt you'll visit IKEA on your bike to buy flat-packed furniture (unless you're riding a cargo bike), but they also have a lot of small accessories you may be able to carry home with you, and the food at their restaurant and shop is not half bad either. Plenty of parking for bikes too where you can securely lock yours, but I would not leave it there for too long...

Cosy pub on Theale High Street, this place is dog friendly and -even though it does not have a proper garden- it offers a few outdoor tables on the side allowing you to keep an eye on your pride and joy. Prices may not be the cheapest, but the friendly staff serves honest pub classics.
