It is one of the many quarries in the Berici Hills (known as 'priàre' in the Venetian dialect) for the extraction of the prized Vicenza stone, widely used and appreciated in architecture. Some quarries (like this one) have been abandoned; others are still active; and still others have been converted for various purposes. Quiet walk with picnic stops

Small lake completely surrounded by Monte Berici; nesting place for many water birds but due to its location and good walking path (3.5 km) around the lake it is busy on weekends and holidays.

Beautiful dirt road that runs along the entire Fimon Lake, excellent for dog walks.
