The path from the Sarlkofel Saddle to the summit is somewhat exposed in some places. There are two or three scrambling sections, one of which is secured. However, with due caution, the path was manageable with the family (youngest 11 years old) and our dog. You are rewarded with a magnificent panoramic view of the valley and the surrounding area.

Monte Serla (Sarlkofel in German) is 2,378 meters high. It is located above Dobbiaco and is characterized by a particularly light dolomitic rock. Its summit is isolated and easily visible even from afar and from below. This is one of the checkpoints of the famous Stoneman Mike.

YouTube/photos don't even come close to conveying the height and condition of the path. This section is only suitable for experienced hikers. After that, there are more dangerous passages. Remember that the path is a dead end and you have to go back.

This climb is tough. Poles are strongly recommended. In places it is so steep that you can only hike on tiptoes.

The climb up here is not for the faint-hearted and only for experienced hikers! Good sure-footedness is required. One section is secured with a chain to hold on to, here it goes hundreds of meters down... two small inclines have to be climbed.
