Mrs. Peters and Mr. Hagen are two of the charming Lechner figures that have enriched the townscape of Petershagen since 2002. Created by Witten artist Christel Lechner, they embody "everyday people in everyday life" and blend seamlessly into the cityscape. Mrs. Peters, dressed in her Sunday best, is on her way to church and is standing in front of the town hall. Mr. Hagen, on the other hand, sits relaxed by the fountain in suspenders and a sailor's cap, enjoying his evening off. These life-size concrete figures invite visitors to pause and discover the small stories of everyday life they depict.

The "Mensch Petershagen" initiative has set itself the task of making the town center of Petershagen more attractive. Together with the Women's Association and other private sponsors, Witten ceramic master Christel Lechner was recruited to enrich the old town with her sculptures. Christel Lechner's creatures, lovable figures one might encounter every day, depict people in everyday situations, albeit made of concrete. The figures in her production are unconcerned with their surroundings. They live their lives, completely focused on themselves and their fellow actors or neighbors.
