Beautifully situated between fields and meadows

Boatman's mast of the Hol fast e.V. boatman's association. The boatman's mast is an attraction on the waterway junction adventure trail. In February 1949, 12 inland boatmen from Minden and the surrounding area founded the association. -They were mainly employed by the federal towing company or in the Weser shipping company. The name "Hol fast" was chosen as a symbol of holding on to traditions, to our profession and to the camaraderie among colleagues. The lake landscape near Hävern is a beautiful nature reserve in the natural area of the Wesertal between the districts of Hävern and Großenheerse in the town of Petershagen. The area extends over 104 hectares and is part of the EC bird sanctuary "Weseraue". The former gravel ponds are now biotopes for water birds and offer a picturesque backdrop for walks and exploration.

The old Jössen ferry dock is one of my favorite resting places on the Weser. Here you have a wonderful view of the Weser and the unique river landscape of the Weser floodplain. Information boards on site provide interesting information. I've also seen many a sunset here.

The solar ferry Petra Solara connects the cycle paths on the left and right of the Weser near Windheim (NRW). The bike path takes you through the beautiful Weser meadows. Views of inhabited stork nests and magnificent windmills included. The daily ferry service begins on July 1st and ends on September 15th. April, May June, mid-September and October the PS runs on weekends, holidays and bridging days.

The chapel site, the historic center of Jössen at the old school with the small bell tower, has remained the village square to this day, surrounded by pretty farmhouses and with a cozy seating area to relax and chat. Just sit down and feel good!
