Built in the 17th century, on foundations of the 12th century, the Saint-Sulpice church is one of the largest in Paris. It is worth visiting this church located in the center of the 6th arrondissement, in Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Inside you can admire the nave, the chapel of the Virgin with a statue of Jean-Baptiste Pigalle, the sacristy and woodwork in the Louis XV style, the wall paintings by Eugène Delacroix and the great organ by Cavaillé-Coll . Another curiosity: the gnomon, a simple form of a solar quadrant used to carry out different works of astronomy, whose inlaid bronze thread represents the "meridian" line.
