The Gardeccia Hut and the climb to reach it are the history of sport in Val di Fassa. Destination, transit point and base for excursions and climbing in the Catinaccio area, the refuge, opened in 1902 by Giuseppe Desilvestro known as "Bepo di Medil", was the finish line of the Giro d'Italia on two occasions, in 1976 and in 2011.
