an impressive architectural masterpiece that towers high above the market arches on Vogelberg. Construction of the current church building began in 1896 and was completed in 1900 after the original church fell victim to a fire in 1892. The cathedral is characterized by its neo-Romanesque style and houses a historically significant Ankum cross from the 13th century. With a 79.3 meter high church tower, it has the highest village church tower in Germany. This tower, built on the remains of an older building, probably built before 1100, gives the cathedral a majestic appearance. The church is a symbol of Ankum's rich history and culture and an important part of local community life.
