The Kleine Jasmunder Bodden is part of the Nordrügener Bodden and is an edge of the southern Baltic Sea within the island of Rügen. It is around seven kilometers long and a maximum of five kilometers wide (sometimes much narrower). It has an area of 28.4 square kilometers.

The water area is limited in the north by the Jasmund peninsula, in the east by the spit of the narrow heath and in the south by the main part of the island of Rügen, the motherland. In the northwest at Lietzow there is a connection to the Great Jasmund Bodden via a drain with a lock. The two bodden were separated only in 1869 by filling a dam (Bundesstrasse 96 and the Stralsund – Sassnitz railway line). This dam made the Bodden more or less a lake. The coast of the Bodden is relatively structured, so the Pulitz peninsula protrudes far into the Bodden in the southwest. This is designated as a Pulitz nature reserve. (Source Wikipedia)

Very beautiful place. Some good restaurants. Always worth a bike ride.
