Burgruine Münzenberg

A must for every castle lover. The castle is open and accessible for a small fee. On one of the two towers leads a wooden staircase in the interior to the very top. Once there you can enjoy the wonderful view.On a ridge rises the castle Münzenberg. With its two towering mountain peace, it dominates the country and is the landmark of this region.

Unfortunately we were late. The ruin can only be visited from 10:00 to 16:00. Still impressive!

Yesterday in dream weather unfortunately no admission to the "Munzenburg" a shame!
Reason: winter break from December to February !!! Unfortunately we were not informed 😢

The Munzenberg Castle, known by name since 1162, also known locally as the Munzenburg or Wetterau Ink Bottle, is the ruin of a hilltop castle at 239 m above sea level. NHN high Munzenberg south of Munzenberg in the Hessian Wetteraukreis.

@ Wolfram / Ts .: I also find several identical photos annoying. But that doesn't have to be down to the users. I recently uploaded a photo of another highlight via the mobile phone app, which was then displayed there several times. When I wanted to add a picture later, I noticed - but also because the highlight only had a few photos. There seems to be a bug at Komoot.

The observation tower is currently not accessible due to Corona, and a few paths are one-way streets. The entrance fee is reduced to € 2.
