Great vantage point with a great view from high above, or just a place to pause ...., with information boards on the tower

Looking from the Humpferturm towards the forest, a wide hiking path leads down the hill on the right side. To the left is a 5m steep path up the hill. From there, an ingenious and narrow singletrack meanders down the mountain. After a relatively long and demanding descent path ends at a forest parking lot opposite to the entrance to the Stübecken. Top departure. Mountain up again ... off to the tower ... and again full throttle. ☺

The area “Die Humpfert” lies in the northwest of the Letmather city area. It is limited by the A 46 in the south, the B 236 in the east, the city limits to Hohenlimburg in the west and in the north by the Schälk area.
The Humpfert is known for the Humpfert Tower, which stands at an altitude of 292 meters and is the highest point of the Letmathe area. The highest point in the old town of Letmathe is at Hilkenhohl in Lössel with 442 meters. Around 165 meters in altitude lie between the Humpfertturm and Letmathe train station (128 meters above sea level).

If the visibility is clear, the television tower at Freischütz in Schwerte and the Florian tower in Dortmund can be seen in the north. In the northwest, the Hohensyburg and the RWE hydropower station on Lake Harkort can be seen. Many trees make it difficult to see Letmathe. The Humpfert Tower in its current form is around 15 meters high and was inaugurated on June 21, 1908.
