The Twistesee is a reservoir on the Twiste. It is located near Wetterburg in the northern Hesse district of Waldeck-Frankenberg (Germany).Reason for the construction of the dam was the Heinrichsflut from 16./17. July 1965, which led to heavy damage and destruction in the catchment area of Twiste and Diemel. The Twistesee is located at the northern end of the Long Forest between 3.3 km to the west of the core town of Bad Arolsen, the 5 km northeastern core town of Volkmarsen and the 9.5 km south-east lying core town of the city Wolfhagen. The influence of the Twiste in the reservoir is located 1.3 km north-northeast of Braunsen, and the only waterfront Wetterburg is the dam; both are Bad Arolsener districts. The reservoir extends completely in the urban area of Bad Arolsen; 1.3 km east of the dam lies the district Neu-Berich. Wikipedia
