Towering ninety meters high on a rock spur above the left bank of the Main, the ruins of Karlsburg, which was destroyed in the 16th century during the Peasant Wars, with the striking palas wall that has been preserved and facing the Main, is now a popular excursion destination for people in and around the area, not least because of it the fantastic view of the river valley and the opposite, on the right bank of the Main, Karlstadt.

Very beautiful ruin. Unfortunately it is closed off. Nevertheless, it is worth a detour as it is beautiful to look at and the view of the Main valley is great.
