Tips
The construction of this structure, which was previously called the castle gate, probably dates back to the 14th century. It is the only one of the four city gates that has been preserved.
Cham Castle used to stand on the site of the adjacent old building. After it lost its original function, an electoral brewery for wheat beer was set up at this location from 1642. That's why over time the castle gate was transformed into the beer gate.
