Road Cycling Highlight
Caporetto, located in a strategic position in the upper Isonzo valley, is famous for having been the scene of the so-called Battle of Caporetto which was fought here in the First World War between 24 October and 27 November 1917 between Italian and Austrian troops and it ended with the famous route of the Italian troops, who had to withdraw to the Piave river because there were no plans for the defense of the positions, being the strategy of the Royal Army based exclusively on the offensive.
