The small church is a sacral half-timbered building from the 16th century, which is rare in Thuringia. Two material sources provide information about the year of construction: an old weather vane with the year 1586 and the baptismal font, which bears the year 1587. The supporting central pillar and the galleries are later installations from around 1600. The crucifix on the east wall dates to the 17th century. The altar crucifix comes from Oberammergau and is a donation from 1835. Foliage ornaments decorate the galleries. Each parapet panel is designed differently. In 1820 the church received a Knauf organ.
