The Leading Peak Trail begins with a steep climb through the forest. The ascent moderates by the time you reach Champside Lake. From there, you wind through a lush ravine flanked by impressive cliffs. Once you begin to ascend the peak, the trail rises quickly, but you will find a few strategically placed ropes to help you pull yourself up and maintain your balance.
