The Palace of the Marquis of Santa Cruz in Viso del Marqués, Ciudad Real, is a historic Renaissance-style building constructed in the late 16th century by Álvaro de Bazán, the first Marquis of Santa Cruz de Mudela. Currently, this palace houses the General Archive of the Navy.

Located next to the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption, the palace was one of two built by the mariner Álvaro de Bazán. Throughout its history, it has served as a museum, archive, and residence. Despite the damage it has suffered over the centuries, its splendor can still be admired today. Furthermore, in the nearby parish church, there is a curious 4-meter-long stuffed crocodile, offered by the Marquis as a votive offering after one of his voyages. 🏰🐊
