The castle complex is located at 562 m above sea level on the eastern slopes of the Hesselberg on the so-called Schlössleinsbuck in the Lentersheim district and is registered as an archaeological monument under monument number D-5-6929-0115. On the main peak, the Ehinger Berg, as well as the Röckingerberg, there were fortifications from the Bronze and Urnfield periods, a castle ruin from the early Middle Ages, a Mesolithic open-air settlement, a Neolithic settlement, a Bronze Age burial site, and an early medieval cemetery.
