According to the clerical records of the Pronsky district of the Ryazan province, the Transfiguration Church in the village of Stolptsy in the Pronsky district (now the Starozhilovsky district) was built "in 1761 with the efforts of the Needle Factory, which was in the village of Stolptsy in the city of Ryumin." The document states that the church "is a stone building, with a similar bell tower, covered with iron, strong." There were three altars in it: the main one in the real, cold one - in the name of the Transfiguration of the Lord; in the refectory, warm: on the southern side - in the name of the Protection of the Holy Mother of God and on the northern side - in the name of St. Demetrius, Metropolitan of Rostov. The church belonged to two stories, the stone building on the upper floor was a church and parish school, and on the lower floor - a warehouse. In the cemetery there was a stone chapel and another stone building in the corner of the church fence. The children who attended the parish school were: 31 boys and 22 girls.

In 1922, valuables were confiscated from the church for the benefit of the starving Volga region.
