True to its name, Boulder Pass is filled with large rocks deposited by retreating glaciers. Snow lingers here late into the season, and the narrow corridor between Ptarmigan Peak and Redoubt Mountain feels remote and wild. From the top of the pass, turquoise Ptarmigan Lake lies 180 metres below, framed by Fossil Mountain and Deception Pass. The dramatic scenery makes the steady climb worthwhile.
