Mergoscia, 735 m above sea level, is a popular holiday and excursion destination. Located on a sunny southern slope, Mergoscia has a little over 200 inhabitants. Mergoscia is the starting point for numerous hikes. Only a few kilometers from the tourist centers of Locarno and Tenero, Mergoscia has largely been able to retain its character as a typical mountain village in the Verzasca Valley.
