Eichberg Hut

The Eichberg Hut was built on the Eichberg in 1928 and owes its name to the oak peeling forest that used to be here. Located in the Eichberg district, the hut used to provide a clear view to the north-west, to Ober-Mörlen and the Usa Valley with the adjacent Taunus. The hut is almost five meters high and has a square floor plan of around four by four meters. The gable roof is equipped with sliding panels, the gable with ventilation windows and a light band with diagonal diamonds. Taunus Grauwacken was used for the screed base. In the immediate vicinity is the Eichberg-Schanze, an earth wall with a diameter of approx. 25 meters, which was used for defense in the battles for the Johannisberg in the Seven Years' War (1762 Battle of Johannisberg).

The Eichberghütte is located along the Hüttenwanderweg.

Beautiful forest, good paths and not so crowded.
