The Schattwald Alp is located right at the beginning of the Rohrmoos Nature Reserve and is a genuine alpine dairy farm with cheese production. The alpine farm is particularly popular as a stopover for cyclists, as it can be reached via the toll road from Oberstdorf/Tiefenbach. However, the stopover is well worth it, with a good 215 meters of elevation gain over a 6.5-kilometer journey from Tiefenbach.
