The Franzensfest Reservoir (also known as Lake Franzensfest or Unterauer Reservoir[1], Italian: Lago di Fortezza) is located at the transition from the Wipp Valley to the Eisack Valley in South Tyrol (Italy). The Eisack River is dammed here for the purpose of generating electricity. The largest part of the body of water lies within the municipality of Franzensfeste, with smaller parts in the southeast within the municipality of Natz-Schabs.
