This park is in the Matt Berry neighbourhood and has an area of 5.11 ha. Massey "Matt" Berry (1889-1970) was a veteran of both world wars and an award-winning bush pilot who helped open northern Canada. Berry was born in Ontario and served in WWI with the Royal Flying Corps. Over the next decade, he continued his aerial training and flew throughout the Northwest Territories, joining Canadian Airways in 1931. He was awarded the McKee Trophy, Canada's oldest aviation honour in 1936 after captaining two difficult rescue flights. Berry served in WWII and retired from commercial flying in 1969. He was named to Canada's Aviation Hall of Fame in 1973.
