The Silz Wind and Steam Mill, located between the districts of Silz and Nossentin, was built in 1872. It was constructed from local bricks, presumably from the nearby Nossentin brickworks, and is now one of the region's most important architectural monuments. The mill is a special example of the combination of wind and steam power: it not only served to mill grain but also housed a steam bakery, making it a progressive facility for its time.

Since 1990, the building has been privately owned and has been carefully restored under listed building regulations. The mill is officially listed as a historical monument by the municipality of Silz and represents an impressive example of regional architecture and technological history of the 19th century.

Due to its location in the cultural landscape of the Mecklenburg Lake District, it is not only a historical highlight but also a popular destination for cycling and hiking tours in the surrounding area.
