Erich Stekovics is an Austrian organic farmer in Frauenkirchen on Lake Neusiedl and is known as the "Emperor of Tomatoes." Over the years, Stekovics has cultivated 3,200 varieties of tomatoes and tomatoes, creating the largest collection of tomato seeds in the world. In addition to other crops, he added 600 chili varieties by 2014, 39 varieties of basil by 2011, and over 24 different organic onion rarities in 2016. Today, he is considered a "prime Austrian example of the ideals of the Slow Food movement."
