The Schwentine River flows through 12 to 13 small and large lakes in the Holstein Switzerland Nature Park (Holstein Lake District), some of whose shores are formed by wooded hills. The surrounding area therefore offers a wide variety of canoeing opportunities. Many interesting water birds can be seen, and the white-tailed eagle is often seen. Between the lakes, the Schwentine flows as a picturesque little river that delights every paddler. On a canoe tour on the Schwentine, you can bring your canoe along the entire route by train.

Geographical Location
The Schwentine River in Schleswig-Holstein rises on the Bungsberg near Eutin. It flows into the Kiel Fjord (Baltic Sea) in Kiel. Here in Holstein Switzerland, we have one of the northernmost canoeing areas in Germany. We can paddle the Schwentine from Eutin.
