The Sacred Heart Cathedral in Limón, Costa Rica, was built in 1892 and was the city's first Catholic church. However, it was irreparably damaged after the 1991 earthquake. In 2010, a new cathedral was built, designed by Mexican architect Raúl Goddard.
The bell tower operates using a computer-aided system.
There are no internal columns.
The stained-glass windows are elements of the old cathedral.
